This Sunday we celebrate Trinity Sunday.  The notion of God as a threefold community of love is pregnant with rich pastoral implications for us. I will explore the relevance of what it means to be made in the image and likeness of God when God is a threefold divine community of love. There is no biblical doctrine of the Trinity, but there is a functional representation of the Trinity in the Christian testament. What does it mean to us to be made in the image of God? Even more pressing a question, Christianity has affirmed that the church (when not dysfunctional) models the community of the Triune God. What does that mean for us as a Church Alive to God and our mission as Church? Come and puzzle with the multiple levels of significance of God as divine community of love with equal co-partners, with celebration of differences as well as finding a unity.  What does the unique way of divine outpouring of love speak to us as individuals and a community of faith?

I just recorded “The Practice of Safe Texts: Homosexuality and the Bible.”  Pass the website on to your friends: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/22959811

We celebrate Out at the Circus: July 14th from 5-10:30 PM. In a gay “Cirque du Soleil” style event, MCC will hold its major annual fund-raiser. The theme this year is Fantasia with Zircon ending the night, with nearly an hour show of acrobatics, high-wire, stilt walkers, and fire-spinners. Our event will host games and good food with raffle prizes and silent auction items. Tickets for admission are $10, children under 18 are admitted free. We need raffle items and silent auction items. Look at any art work, movie posters, home décor items, or unique items for silent auction. Our success depends upon the unique and donated items from congregants and friends. Ask you favorite restaurant for a gift certificate. We have already received some donations. We are also looking for sponsors for our event: Sponsorship is $500. More details will be forthcoming.

Join us for worship this Sunday and we will all be blessed and enriched with your presence.

The Blessings of our God as Creator, Christ, and Spirit.

Rev. Bob
